Beginning, Middle, End!

The Fall is officially the best time of the year for me.

I say this with a shiver, sand in my ears and a huge smile because the temperatures begin to drop considerably, the surf begins to get better and you all know I am a very happy humanoid when I connect with the water.

Having said that, this has also been the most eventful month I have experienced in many years.

I learned that Napster was officially sold to Rhapsody this first week of October and effective December 2011, I will be looking for a new job.

Before you pick up the phone, you can wipe of that worried look on your face because I am truly over it and appreciate your love and concern.  Everything has a beginning and an end.  Just like this surf sequence brought to you by Selasie (Sal) of rightspotattherighttime.blogspot.com.

Smita and I also successfully completed our US Citizenship interview and are now waiting for an invitation to the Oath ceremony to wrap it all up.  Can anyone say new beginning?

So as I said, everything has a beginning and an end and if you can count how many times the word 'begin' is repeated in this blog post, you can pat yourself on the back.

39th Annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair

Before Luke and Laila arrived, Smita and I would have a decent blast at the MB Hometown fair.

Luke and I have now attended this one and the one last year and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I guess it could be 'our thing'.

Laila's 2nd Birthday

If you did not already know, today was Laila's 2nd Birthday and boy is she different!

Starting yesterday after Luke decided to dress her up (after removing her diaper and leaving her bare bottomed!), she has decided she is a lady!

She got a perfect handbag set that included trendy sunglasses, cellphone and camera.  Once they were all stuffed in the bag, she put it through her arm, put her hand out and said 'ok....lets go!'.  Trouble comes in small packages.

We woke up this morning to find the kids all dressed up and ready for school.
Apparently Luke woke Laila up, removed her diaper, dressed her up and himself and this is the result.

Luke Graduated!

Luke graduated from pre-kindergarten today.  Yes, it is an event so stop snickering and read on.

We were most proud of the fact that Luke was picked alongside Victoria to do the opening recital poem.
Smita helped him memorize that so I guess Smita graduated too.  Stop snickering!

Afterwards, just the boys(Luke and I) went to Universal Studios for some well deserved fun!

Smita's 25th Birthday Anniversary!

So Smita celebrated her 25th birthday anniversary recently so we went out to dinner while Daddy babysat the kids. (with a little help)

Joint Swim Session.

The kids had a joint swim session this past weekend due to an "accident" (someone pooped in the other pool).

So we had a rare occasion of both kids in the same swim lane with their instructors.

Laila has really improved and is so eager to jump in head first.

Luke is also making great strides in his pre-stroke class.

I don't know how kids do this but these sleeping positions really crack me up.
Luke is deep asleep and snoring while in this position. I almost cried laughing and almost woke him up.

I hadn't surfed in a while and I was beginning to feel sick and I suspect it was exactly because of a 'lack of surfing'.  So I did what the 'doctor' ordered and surfed and I feel 100% better.
